Congressional Labor Caucus Co-Chairs Statement on Delivering for Working People
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Labor Caucus Co-Chairs Debbie Dingell (MI-06), Steven Horsford (NV-04), Donald Norcross (NJ-01), and Mark Pocan (WI-02) released the following statement.
“For the past two years, workers have had to endure constant attacks from the Trump administration. From illegally stripping over 1 million workers of their collective bargaining rights to rolling back pro-worker policies and protections, this Administration has continuously gone after working people – making life harder and less affordable.
Working Americans have repeatedly made it clear they will not tolerate an economy that only works for corporations and the wealthy. They demand an economy built for working families and will hold elected officials accountable to deliver on that promise. They are driving home a fundamental truth: as we build the future, we must always put people over profit.
The Congressional Labor Caucus will ensure we return workers back to the center of every policy decision. House Democrats must offer a forward-looking economic vision that lowers costs, creates jobs, raises wages, and delivers for working people. We must pass the PRO Act to guarantee every worker the right to join a union, and must raise wages so families can afford gas, groceries, and basic living expenses.
We remain steadfast in our commitment to reverse the damage caused by the Trump Administration because every worker in every community deserves a good job, fair wages, strong benefits, and a secure retirement.
We stand shoulder to shoulder with workers to put working people first."
