Congressional Labor Caucus Statement on UAW-Big 3 Tentative Agreements
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, the Congressional Labor Caucus Co-Chairs Representatives Debbie Dingell (D-MI), Steven Horsford (D-NV), Donald Norcross (D-NJ), and Mark Pocan (D-WI) released the following statement on the news that UAW and the Big Three automakers (Ford, Stellantis, and General Motors) have reached tentative agreements in their contract negotiations:
“We applaud the momentous tentative agreements reached between UAW and the Big Three automakers. These historic agreements include major wage increases, restored cost-of-living adjustments, and the elimination of several wage tiers. Additionally, workers at several electric vehicle battery manufacturing facilities will now be covered by these new agreements.
“Workers have continued to use their collective power to secure wins throughout 2023, and these agreements are further proof that collective bargaining is the best way to build an economy that supports working people. We await to see if UAW members vote to ratify these agreements, and we are committed to building on this momentum in the labor movement going forward.”
