Labor Caucus Applauds Wilcox Confirmation to NLRB
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Labor Caucus Co-Chairs Representatives Debbie Dingell (D-MI), Steven Horsford (D-NV), Donald Norcross (D-NJ), and Mark Pocan (D-WI), released the following statement applauding the Senate’s vote to reconfirm Gwynne Wilcox to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB):
“The Senate’s bipartisan vote to reconfirm Gwynne Wilcox to the NLRB is an important step in protecting the Board’s ability to fully execute its mission. In just the past few weeks, Wilcox and the NLRB have issued several major decisions to strengthen workers’ collective bargaining and organizing rights — including the Board’s historic new framework to address delays in union election processes under its Cemex decision.
“Returning Gwynne Wilcox to the NLRB will ensure that the Board can continue building on this critical work, and we applaud Leader Schumer for prioritizing this nomination.”
In August, the Labor Caucus Co-Chairs urged the Senate to prioritize Wilcox’s nomination to ensure the full functionality of the NLRB. The reconfirmation of Wilcox ensures that the NLRB has the necessary pro-worker majority to continue issuing decisions that safeguard workers' rights.
