Labor Caucus Co-Chairs Honor Labor Day
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, theCongressional Labor Caucus Co-Chairs Representatives Steven Horsford (D-NV), Mark Pocan (D-WI), Donald Norcross (D-NJ), Debbie Dingell (D-MI) released the following statement:
“Today, we are proud to celebrate the hardworking men and women who built this country and keep our economy moving every day. Workers are the backbone of America, and we all must recommit ourselves to building an economy that works for all workers – which is why we co-founded the Congressional Labor Caucus several years ago.
“This Labor Day, there are numerous pro-worker wins to celebrate. Under the leadership of President Biden and Vice President Harris, we have created millions of new, high-paying union jobs across the country while bringing manufacturing back to America. We have also enacted policies that are increasing worker wages, improving job safety, and ensuring that workers’ rights are respected. And workers are continuing to make their voices heard and organize new unions at a historic rate, while public support for unions continues to be near all-time highs.
“Going forward, our Caucus is committed to building on this progress and continuing the fight to raise standards for workers everywhere. Every worker deserves a good job with a living wage, safe working conditions, and a free and fair choice to join a union, and we will continue fighting in Congress to make this vision a reality.
To all workers across the country, thank you for all you do each and every day. Happy Labor Day to all!”
