Labor Caucus Statement on Contract Negotiations Between UAW & the Big Three
WASHINGTON, DC — Today, Labor Caucus Co-Chairs Representatives Debbie Dingell (D-MI), Steven Horsford (D-NV), Donald Norcross (D-NJ), and Mark Pocan (D-WI), released the following statement on the UAW’s ongoing contract negotiations with the Big Three U.S. automakers:
“We proudly stand in solidarity with the United Auto Workers (UAW) in their fight for better pay, benefits, and working conditions. We believe that historic profits for the auto companies should translate to historic gains for the workers who keep our economy running every day.
“These negotiations are fundamental to the future of the auto industry, and as the U.S. transitions to electric vehicles, we must ensure that all auto jobs are good jobs. We support the principles of equal pay for equal work, dignified retirement, and ensuring that autoworkers have a place in the clean energy economy, and we support a fair contract for UAW.”
