Congressional Labor Caucus Re-Launches for 118th Congress
WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Congressional Labor Caucus Co-Chairs Representatives Debbie Dingell (D-MI), Steven Horsford (D-NV), Donald Norcross (D-NJ), and Mark Pocan (D-WI) were joined last week by AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer Fred Redmond and senior representatives from the Labor community to re-launch the Labor Caucus for the 118th Congress. The Labor Caucus has 104 Members and hired its first Executive Director earlier this year. The Labor Caucus works to protect workers’ rights, to advance the priorities of workers and the labor movement, and to connect legislators directly with workers and unions. “Over the last few months and years, we have seen a renewed energy in the Labor movement as workers have successfully used their collective power to improve their wages and working conditions,” the Co-Chairs said. “Favorability ratings for unions are near all-time highs and workers are forming new unions at historic rates. The Labor Caucus and our members look forward to advancing policies that support workers, including passing the PRO Act and increasing funding for the NLRB. We will always stand for the rights of all workers.” “We also want to announce the hiring of our first Executive Director of the Labor Caucus, Tommy Wolfe. Tommy joins us after previously working for the U.S. Trade Representative, Senator Amy Klobuchar, and the Joint Economic Committee, and we look forward to expanding the programming and reach of the Caucus with him on board. The Labor Caucus kicked off with a celebration last week with dozens of union representatives and Members of Congress. Additional photos can be found HERE. | |||
